Why can't I change the startup and shutdown splash screens?

DWebPro is distributed under a "FREE for non commercial use license." This license provides the same features as DWebPro Standard with the following limitations:

  • DWebPro displays the default splash screen for 5 seconds on startup and shutdown

  • You cannot change the system tray icon and its associated hover text

With any DWebPro commercial license you will be able to personalize both startup and shutdown splash screens. Refer to the DWebPro Licensing Model topic for more information on DWebPro Licensing Models.

What does "commercial use" mean?

We consider "commercial use" to be when a user earns money from the distribution of DWebPro in a direct (such as charging for each CD/DVD or charging for the Web site porting service) or indirect way (such as when distributing marketing materials like catalogs or company portfolios).

Can I distribute DWebPro as an install package or let the end user run it from media other than CD/DVD?

Yes, you can. For this type of use you need a DWebPro CoBrand or above. In the cobrand folder (for example, C:\DWebPro\cobrand), you can find an Inno Setup script (http://www.innosetup.com/) and a NSIS script (http://nsis.sourceforge.net/) you can use as a template for your own install packages. Refer to the How To Create An Install Package With DWebPro how-to for more information on install packages creation.

Which commercial license should I buy?

DWebPro is available in 5 different licenses. Each one has been created to fit our customers' specific needs.

In this page you can find a simple, step by step procedure to choose the best license for your project.

Why should I buy DWebPro CoBrand?

Here is a list of reasons why you should buy DWebPro CoBrand:

  • Do you want to distribute DWebPro in an install package or let the end user install it on their PCs.

  • Do you want to hide the license information and change the background image of the license information box.

  • Do you want to rename the dwebpro.exe file.

  • Do you want to create trial versions of your Web applications or Web scripts.

  • Do you want to use a document root folder on a drive other than the one on which DWebPro is running.

I work for a Web Agency or Communication Agency. Which license should I buy?

There are mainly two paths that a Web Agency or Communication Agency can follow in using our product, each of them equally profitable:

  1. You can buy DWebPro CoBrand that allows you to create an unlimited number of CDs/DVDs and install packages. This license also allows you to better personalize DWebPro. For instance, you will be able to customize the license box with your client's data resulting in a more professional and marketing oriented product.

  2. You can join our VARs (Value Added Resellers) program and earn a royalty of 30% on each license you buy for your clients. In this way you don't need to invest any money for the purchase of your license and you earn more money for each "Web-to-CD " project you handle (your service fee, plus the 30% royalty).

For more information about our VARs program, please send an email to vars@dwebpro.com.

Can I sell CD/DVD or install packages created with DWebPro?

Yes, you can, and you don't have to pay any additional fee except the initial cost of the DWebPro commercial license.

Do I have to pay a fee for each CD/DVD or install package I distribute?

No, you don't. All the DWebPro commercial licenses contain a royalty free distribution agreement that allows you to distribute unlimited CDs/DVDs and install packages without any additional fee.

Can I charge my clients for the "Web-to-CD" service?

Yes, you can and you don't have to pay any additional cost to us. If you are going to handle a lot of "Web-to-CD" projects, we suggest that you think about the following opportunities:

  1. You can buy DWebPro CoBrand that allows you to create an unlimited number of CDs/DVDs and install packages. This license also allows you to better personalize DWebPro. For instance, you will be able to customize the license box with your client's data resulting in a more professional and customer oriented product.
